What Does the 5/50 Warranty Mean?

The 5/50-Year Warranty on LP SmartSide siding includes:

  • The First 5 Years: Full coverage (100% of labor and material costs are covered for any defects)*
  • Next 45 Years: Prorated coverage; Based on the product’s age, the manufacturer will cover a percentage of the cost to replace the siding’s substrate*
    *This is most commonly associated with LP SmartSide siding products. We offer full labor and material replacement within the first 5 years, which functions similarly to an exchange.

Warranty FAQs

No. The warranty is non-transferable and is only valid for the original purchaser and/or their spouse.

The following is not covered under the warranty:

  • Customer-made modifications or additions to the building
    (If a modification causes a structural issue or leak, it voids the warranty for that problem.)
  • Improper relocation (If the building is moved without using a professional shed-hauling company, and damage occurs, warranty claims may be denied.)
  • Acts of nature, such as high winds, hail, flooding, or other natural disasters.

To file a claim, please contact the sales lot where you purchased the building. You’ll need to provide:

  • The building’s serial number
  • Photos of the issue
  • A brief description of the problem
  • A Valid ID to confirm the original purchaser’s name on the order
